The story behind
the name
Psychoptia is a word born from the meeting of two ideas: psyche and optics — the soul, and the way we see.
Soul and perspective
It was made to name something therapy often does without ever naming it: the birth of a new way of seeing human experience.
Psychotherapy is about the possibility of widening how we see, understand and relate to the people around us — and above all, to ourselves.
Every therapeutic journey is its own. It does not lead to one shared truth, but to a deeper relationship with oneself, through greater awareness, fuller understanding and new ways of looking at a life.
The sunflower
It was not the symbol of Psychoptia from the start. Its natural turning towards the light became the starting point of a new idea: a therapeutic way of seeing oneself, others and life.
In its own transformation, the sunflower begins in bright yellow — the colour of vitality, movement and hope — and gradually turns to deeper shades of blue and violet, which stand for calm, the wisdom of the mind and the depth of human experience: the light now taken in and carried within.
- Light is the medium.
- Understanding is the process.
- Connection is the outcome.
- Perspective is the change.
